Help me Bring Christmas to Families in Critical Need

4.3 million children live in poverty. Christmas is anything but festive for children living in poverty.

I’m Gill Ashcroft. My life mission is to support vulnerable families and I’m reaching out with a heartfelt plea. This Christmas, I ask for your support to bring warmth, love, and hope to the most vulnerable families in crisis in the UK. For countless children, Christmas is a distant dream with daily struggles. Together, we can make this Christmas better for them.

Child poverty has reached a crisis level in the UK. Right now:

4.3 million children live in poverty, with almost half from minority backgrounds and 44% in single-parent families.

In a typical classroom, 7 out of 10 children come from families facing financial hardship.

Since 2020, there’s been a 107% increase in children relying on emergency food support.

Basic school essentials like uniforms, meals, and trips remain out of reach for many.

These numbers aren’t just statistics; they’re the heartbreaking reality for families whose daily lives are clouded by hardship. This Christmas, we are organising a national effort to bring hope through Christmas hampers filled with festive meals for families and toys for each child. Partnering with Can Cook and Cash for Kids, we’re ensuring that every contribution directly brings joy and comfort—with a Christmas hamper for each family containing a 3 course Christmas dinner, biscuits and chocolates and Pokemon toys so each family can experience a better Christmas.
