Help my Little Sister

On the evening of Saturday, June 25, 2022 Aaliyah James was the innocent victim of gun violence near the Stone Arch Bridge in Mpls. While walking with friends she was hit by a stray bullet. She is currently hospitalized after emergency surgery to remove the bullet. She suffered internal injuries and is being monitored round-the-clock by a medical team dedicated to emergency trauma care. The way Aaliyah’s body responds to the healing over the next few weeks will be critical in determining her long term prognosis. Please continue to contend and pray for Aaliyah and family . Pray specifically for the healing of her internal injuries, emotional trauma and that all her organs are restored.

Since this unfortunate event we have yet to fully understand what the financial impact all of this will mean for her. Aaliyah is a recent high school graduate who was preparing to go off to college this fall to pursue studies in kinesiology. In addition to the extensive medical bills this will incur, Aaliyah may have to remain in Minnesota to complete her medical care, postponing her education and also to remain close with family for a while. With Aaliyah unable to work, she’s unable to financially prepare for college. Like many of us, she relies on steady income. 

 

The weeks and months ahead will certainly be challenging both emotionally and financially.
