Jose Rodriguez Memorial Fund

Jose Rodriguez was a hardworking, reliable, trustworthy employee and friend to our family and entire team at Salvestrin Winery for over 25 years. His wife Irma has also worked for us for over 14 years. Together, they oversaw the day-to-day operations of our vineyards and helped us produce world class wines.
After a long absence of visiting family in Mexico, Jose and Irma travelled south in early December 2020 with many members of their immediate family for the holidays. While there, Irma’s father who lived in Mexico contracted COVID-19. Jose and Irma cared for him, but after a week he passed away. The following week, Jose and Irma both tested positive for COVID-19 and while Irma quickly recovered, Jose was severely affected and subsequently hospitalized for two weeks. His condition did not improve much, yet he was sent home with oxygen to recover. Jose’s condition worsened at home and sadly, he passed away on January 9, 2021. To make matters worse, the families’ Toyota Tacoma pickup truck was stolen from them earlier that same day.
The Rodriguez family is very close and supportive of each other, we have seen that over the many years we have known them. However, even a strong family needs help at times and this situation is heartbreaking in so many ways. Jose and Irma’s youngest daughter is a senior in high school and was looking forward to graduation this year with her father by her side. Simply put, Jose’s absence is a devastating and heartbreaking loss.
We have created this GoFundMe page to help the Rodriguez Family through this difficult time and substantial loss of income. Please help by donating whatever you can to this humble, hardworking and dedicated family. We will miss dearly Jose’s warm smile and daily presence in the vineyard and at the winery. He was an incredible co-worker, husband, father and friend and we pray for his family.
Sincerely,
