2024 Ottawa West Winter Trail

Donation protected
The Ottawa West Winter Trail (OWWT) has been running officially now for three seasons, and it's been wonderful to see all the users enjoying it over these past winters. This season we are excited to be grooming the same 21km of multi-use trail, to the high standards we are known for in the region. The Greenbelt path south to Robertson road and also the path north from Carling/Rifle to Riverdown Drive at Shirley's Bay, will continue to be part of the official trail. We are also looking at some pilot trails that we may incorporate in future years. To groom the long trail network with multiple road crossings we will be using our high-end Kubota-Mueller groomer once a week on the trail and then fill in other days using the "Powersport" equipment that you are familiar with seeing. One of the snowmobiles and one of the ATVs are at the point in their lifetime that they need replacing, and we have had some issues with wheel systems that need repairs and custom modifications. We also hope to bring you some fun social events and some improved signage, all to make this the trail to visit out here in the West end of Ottawa!

Please consider donating to support the equipment maintenance, fuel, equipment modifications, additional/replacement machines, equipment storage, signage costs, trail expansion (possibly trail 10 and more around DND), public parking-related costs, etc..

Consider donating $1 for every KM you skied or used last season! (Consider volunteering too!)

2400 people follow this FB page, if just 1/10th of you donated ~$30 each, we would make our goal.

This multi-use urban winter trail is welcoming and inclusive to all forms of winter activity, be it walking, classic cross-country skiing, skate cross-country skiing, winter biking, snowshoeing, or dog walking! This is an opportunity for everyone to get out into the fresh air during the snowy months.
The Ottawa West Winter Trail is a community-led initiative run by a group of dedicated volunteers. The Kanata Nordic Ski Club operates the OWWT to provide the public with a free multi-use winter wonderland. Kanata Nordic Ski Club is the beneficiary of these funds and is a registered not-for-profit organization. The Kanata Nordic OWWT is a member of the Urban Winter Trail Alliance (UWTA).

****We cannot offer tax receipts directly through the GoFundMe platform. However, if you are considering a donation of $50 or more, please contact us, and we will provide a donation link that will provide a tax receipt. You may message us or email info.owwt at gmail dot com
