With great sadness one of our own has put his camera down for the last time. Jim Bryant a father, grandfather, co-worker and friend has decided its time take his photo skills up to heaven. Jim had over 30-years of photography experience photographing all over the world. Mastering his craft and being a finalist for the most prestigious award the Pulitzer was one of many accomplishments in his career along with taking home hundreds of photography awards over the years. His mastery of photography led him to own and operate his own digital imaging business. Jims work could be seen in newspapers, magazines, websites, publications, commercial products and our very own living room walls.

Not only was Jim a great photographer but he was a great teacher. Jim enjoyed giving lectures on photography at workshops, schools and photo clubs. Typically the first one in the photo room and the last one to leave. Jim was always around to assist and answer any questions. If Jim did not know you he made a point to come over and say “Hello I am Jim Bryant” with his hand held out to shake your hand. Jim always was there to offer tips to any up in coming photographers or razz the photo veterans in the room for something they did.

We all have our Jim Bryant stories, might it be the Jim (PC version) saying “Please step out of the way” so he could get his photo, to Jim traditional Seahawks Christmas game wearing his Santa hat or grabbing an extra hot dog in the photo room for the ride home. Jim lived for the art of photography - morning, afternoon and night. Jim lived his later years in Port Orchard, WA with his family. This go fund me is being set up to give back to Jim Bryant for all the photography knowledge he shared with us over the years. The money raised will help offset any costs that occur when a loved one leaves us. If you can give anything that would be great, if not just passing this link on is more than enough. Jim had friends far and wide across the world that surpassed his Facebook friend list.

As we say goodbye I would like to share one Jim Bryant memory his daughter told me (Julie) - When I was a kid, I thought that everyone had a freezer in the garage for the purpose of storing film. I had to chuckle, If any of you have ever seen his film freezer you walked away shocked at how much film was in it.
