VVU D1 needs U!

Hi! My name is Carla Mulli, I am 23 years old and play volleyball for the first women's team of VVUtrecht. I originally come from Germany, Kenya and Luxembourg and have lived in the Netherlands for 5 years. This season will be my third in Utrecht.

During the working week I am a sustainability consultant and, like the rest of the team, alongside our work or studies, we all have a passion for volleyball. Finding a balance isn't always easy, but we love the game too much not to try.

Our team and VVU as a club have ambitions. Last season we put up a strong performance in the highest dutch league (Eredivisie) by winning the Supercup and reaching the national cup and championship finals. The club has been able to progress, but we can and must still take steps to create an environment that supports and enables our ambitions. Being a competitive team at this level depends heavily on sponsors, a key ingredient we currently don't have enough of.

As a result, we are paying contributions to the club, travel expenses and partly clothing. We do this out of our love for the game and to be able to set foot on the court. In my case, I have also been paying an international transfer fee to be eligible to play because I am not Dutch.

I can no longer afford the fee myself, and there are a number of areas where the entire team could use support. Our goal is to achieve ambitious goals and play our part in creating something beautiful through the sport of volleyball. The right support can help us grow into a stable player at the highest level in the Netherlands.

Hoi! Mijn naam is Carla Mulli, ik ben 23 jaar oud en ik volleybal bij VVU Dames 1. Ik kom uit Duitsland, Kenia en Luxemburg en woon nu 5 jaar in Nederland. Dit seizoen wordt mijn 3e seizoen in de Domstad.

Tijdens de werkweek ben ik duurzaamheidsadviseur en, net als de rest van het team, hebben we naast onze baan of studie allemaal en passie voor volleybal. Hierin een balans vinden, is niet altijd makkelijk, maar we houden te veel van het spelletje om het niet te proberen.

Ons Dames 1 team en VVU als vereniging hebben ambities. Afgelopen seizoen hebben we in de Eredivisie behoorlijk gepresteerd door de Supercup te winnen en de nationale beker- en kampioenschap finale te bereiken. De vereniging heeft daardoor stappen kunnen zetten, maar we kunnen en moeten nog steeds stappen zetten om een omgeving te creëren die onze ambities volledig ondersteunt. Want een competitief team op topniveau kost nu eenmaal veel geld en is afhankelijk van sponsoren.

Op dit moment betalen wij zelf onze contributie, reiskosten en deels kleding. Dit doen wij uit onze passie voor het spel. In mijn geval betaal ik daar bovenop ook nog een internationale transfer fee, omdat ik niet Nederlands ben.

Zelf kan ik mijn fee niet meer betalen, en er zijn een aantal gebieden waar het hele team ondersteuning zou kunnen gebruiken. Ons doel, is om samen binnen de lijnen mooie dingen te laten zien en ambitieuze doelen te bereiken. Zo kunnen wij als team én vereniging groeien tot een stabiele speler op het hoogste niveau in Nederland.
