Support Matthew's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
At 10:24am on 9/11/24 I received a call from a stranger informing me that Matthew had been in an accident. Immediately the man told me that both of his legs were broken. He gave the cross roads and I frantically drove to the scene. Upon arrival Matthew was already in the ambulance. I saw our family vehicle completely totaled & an upside down flat bed semi truck on the other side of the road. By the grace of God, no one else was injured.
Matthew is such a good dad. Always playing / running in the yard with our son and throwing the ball for our dog. He works so hard to make sure we have everything we need for me to stay home. I was the brains, he was the muscle! He would hold our boy singing and rock him to sleep to classic country songs. Disc golfing, fishing & hunting are Matt’s favorite pastimes. He LOVED to dance with us, my heart hurts so bad to think he won’t be able to hold our son.
Matthew was given two titanium rods inside of his Femurs with screws into his hips. He will have a plate and screws placed into his left Clavicle. The discomfort from 3 broken ribs is going to be hard as well as the fractured Tibia. He is expected to spend another week and a half in the hospital then about a month in a physical rehabilitation center, followed by months and months of out patient rehabilitation. (All depending on how his body handles and heals) Estimated recovery time 7- 8 months to walk normally.
We are asking for donations for Matthew as he was the sole financial provider for Alexis and their 2 year old son Thomas. He will need a ramp among other wheel chair accessible items. As we know medical and household bills can pile up fast, let’s ease the financial burden for him. This was also the main vehicle, maybe we can try to help replace it.
Anything helps, even if it’s just well wishes and love.
Thank you
