Help Heather Beat Breast Cancer

Donation protected
On March 24th of 2023, Heather Dorn was diagnosed with an aggressive stage 2B triple negative breast cancer. Along with her diagnosis, she has the BRCA1 gene mutation and cardiomyopathy, a heart condition that has complicated her treatment. As a mother of three children and a beloved English Professor in Binghamton University, this information has devastated her students and family. She's going to undergo 6 months of chemotherapy, a year of immunotherapy concurrently, and surgery, possibly followed by radiation. The cost of chemotherapy and immunotherapy is substantial for anyone facing this treatment, and we fear that these bills may become overwhelming.

With that being said, we've created this fundraiser as a way to give back a fraction of the love, positivity, and generosity she's put out into the world. Despite starting chemotherapy, Dr. Dorn continues to passionately teach us in our classes. She prioritizes our education even as she tends to her health. This, along with her vibrant personality and kindness, is the reason that we are starting this fundraiser.

Please consider making a donation, no matter how small, as it can greatly impact her life. If you are unable to contribute financially, please help by sharing this post with others! All donations will help Professor Dorn’s fight against breast cancer!
