Betty is a Victim of a HIT & RUN. Please help!

I'm Betty's daughter Heather. I'm seeking help for my mother (Betty) for both medical and monthly living costs until she can get back on her feet and work again.

Betty is a mother, a grandmother, a daughter of God.

On Thursday, July 13th. A woman driving a truck, TBoned my mom and fled the scene. Mom, who's vehicle was spun around and crashed into another vehicle, was pinned in her car. Do to the wonderful efforts of medical professionals who came to the scene, they were able to get her into an ambulance and to Penrose Centara Hospital in Colorado Springs.

After admition into the ER, she was moved to the 8th floor, specializing in head and spine injuries. THANKFULLY, the CT scans and Xrays show, no broken bones and no serious brain trauma.

Unfortunately, the hit was so Violent, she is suffering from whiplash, concussion, severe headaches, back and body spasms, and severe muscle cramping. She is sitting up, standing, and walking depending on assistance however. Her progress is very slow because of the concussion.

Mom was released from the hospital the 19th! She is now staying at my aunt's house. She is still dealing with the pain, the dizziness and nausea. She is continuing her medication regiment as well. She will be seen soon to get a PCP established for continued monitoring, physical therapy, neurology, and other concerns that need to be addressed.

This will be a long road to recovery, with likely rehabilitation here at the hospital and continued physical therapy treatment after going home. In the meantime, she has monthly bills to pay, and medical bills stacking up. My mom doesn't have health insurance provided to her through work, and doesn't have any personal insurance either. She does have the vehicle fully insured.

The funds raised will go towards the following:

Medical costs (hospital stay)

Rehabilitation

Physical Therapy and equipment needed

Prescription medication

Monthly Rent for her apartment

Monthly bills (phone, insurance, etc.)

Monthly living expenses (food, toiletries, etc.)

My mom has me listed on her account and all funds will be directly available to her to access right away, and anything she wishes me to pay for while she continues her stay in the hospital.

Detectives are looking for the woman at large, who hit my mother, and hopeful to locate the vehicle from surveillance footage. We are praying that they find her and that she is also insured, in order to have some financial relief in the end. The detective updated me today. He has not located the vehicle or made an ID on the suspect. However, he has several witnesses and the video surveillance of the vehicle leaving the area. He is more hopeful in locating the vehicle than before.
