Help a Displaced Family in Gaza
Donation protected
Like everyone in Gaza right now, Nour and Diaa al-Masry, and their children Karam, Kerem, and Siham, are in desperate need. They have lived through multiple wars. They lost their home three times due to Israeli violence. Recently, they were forced to evacuate Gaza City, and flee to Rafah for safety. They lost many friends and loved ones, including Nour's brother who was killed in an Israeli missile attack. Diaa suffers from chronic acute asthma. Both Diaa and Nour have been unemployed for many years. Diseases are spreading in the refugee camps, and their middle child Kerem now has hepatitis. Nour described the situation to me: "We have left our area to the far south of the Gaza Strip in the city of Rafah. We live on the street and there is no food, water, medicine, or blankets from the cold of winter. We are suffering, dear Kyle. The living conditions here are very difficult and tragic. We are dying every moment either because... explosive barrels that fall on our heads or from the cold of winter. I am talking to you while I am crying. There is no life here, Kyle. My children are sick and my husband is sick. We do not have money to buy food, drink, medicine, winter clothes and winter blankets." Please, if you are able, help them to meet their most basic needs.
I have been in touch with Nour since the last war in 2021. I interviewed her for Rampant Magazine (https://rampantmag.com/2021/11/theres-no-such-thing-as-childhood-in-gaza-interview-with-a-palestinian-mother/), and helped her family financially in the past. I am a music teacher and social justice activist living in Chicago, Illinois. Since last October, communication with Nour and her family has been extremely difficult. Sending money has also been a challenge. But we finally succeeded. They did receive the money that I recently sent to them via PayPal. The money from this fundraiser will be sent to them via PayPal.
