SULLY'S VETERINARY VISIT FOR HIS INFECTED TOENAIL
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Amalia, and I'm making this fundraiser on behalf of the 501c3 non-profit rescue OUTTA THE CAGE.
OUTTA THE CAGE stepped in to help our friend Sully (fka Scully), who was suffering with an infected toe nail, by covering his initial vet costs. Sully languished in the shelter for 11 months before last week when a committed foster stepped up and took him out of the shelter while he continues to search for his perfect forever home.
What we initially believed to be simply an infected toe nail turned into a vet bill of $836. In addition to this initial bill of $836 there will now be a follow up visit for his bandage change over the weekend.
Sully was having a particularly hard time in the shelter environment due to the fact that he seems to have a neuropathy in his legs causing him to lose his balance and occasionally wipe out completely.
In the concrete kennel that he lived in day in and day out, he was often "knuckling" causing him to scrape the tops of his toes and rip a nail here and there. However large his struggles with walking, none of that seems to phase Sully as he is probably the most happy-go-lucky dog many of us volunteers at East Valley Shelter have met. When interacting with the vet both during his initial appointment and after his toenail removal and teeth cleaning, he was happy, friendly, and excited to see people.
Outta the Cage did this boy a solid by paying for this large bill vet visit and we'd like to make sure their bank account is still open and available for other dogs in need. Please help us return the love to them that they showed Sully when he needed help, by helping pay it forward for the next shelter dog who needs a veterinary visit so that they can continue to do the good work that they’re doing for all these dogs!
