Post kidney transplant

Hi, my name is Corrie and I just received a kidney transplant at St. Luke’s in Kansas City. After waiting almost 5 years.

So surgery went really well. The Kidney seems to be working so far I’ll be in recovery for a bit. I’m in Kansas City at St. Luke’s Hospital. The doctors and nurses have been great. Surgery was finished around 1245 Tuesday afternoon, and then I was in the ICU recovery for a while before being moved back to my room for the rest of the recovery. I want to thank all my family and friends for thinking of me. It’s been a long road. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I’m happy to report that it has been a successful transplant and things are going pretty well as I recover in the hospital. Part of the recovery will be that I have to stay in Kansas City for up to a month. During this time, there will be daily tests and treatments for the recovery. My hope is after that time and I’ll be able to return home and start to live a normal life off of dialysis.

While insurance covers a lot of this it does not cover everything and I could use a little help during this time.
