Support Baby Jackson's Medical Journey

Donation protected
Update 9/12- Jackson is now 6 months old! He’s going to his physical therapy appointments and learning new things everyday! As some of you saw his story was recently posted on KTVZ. This family still has a long road ahead! Some days are fantastic for Jax, and some days are hard. Kaitlyn will continue to take care of Jackson around the clock. This donation page will continue to stay up to help both of them with his continued medical bills. Thank you to all who have donated since the KTVZ broadcast!

Original post- Our sweet 3 month old Jackson has been having seizures constantly since June 18th. After a week of him being in the hospital in Bend, Oregon the doctors sent him on a Life Flight to Doernbechers Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon. He will continue to be in the PICU at Doernbechers until the doctors come up with a treatment for baby boy.
Jackson was diagnosed with Hemispheric megalencepholy band heterotopia. This means Jackson has a malformation that caused the left side of his brain to be larger than the right side of his brain. He also has an abnormal grey matter and cysts throughout his brain.
His seizures continue and differ in severity from long lasting seconds, and some lasting for over 5 minutes. Sweet Jackson isn’t getting a break to rest after his seizures so the doctors sedate him for 5 hours a day to give his little body a break.
The road ahead for mama and baby is going to be long. The doctors have discussed possible brain surgery, lots of testing and seeing multiple specialists. As you know medical bills will stack with the care baby Jackson will continue to need, and he needs his mama Kaitlyn by his side. We are asking for prayers as we believe God is in control and we know there is a good plan for Jackson’s life.
This account is set up for baby Jackson’s medical expenses, we will keep updates on here as well. Thank you for praying and helping sweet baby Jackson.

Update 6/27-
Jackson is going to be having a Hemispherectomy. This brain surgery will cut the connecting nerves and completely dislocate the left side of his brain. The doctors believe this will completely stop his seizures that are coming from the left side of his brain. This surgery will take all day and baby boy will need all the prayer he can get. Jackson’s body is getting weaker and weaker and he can’t handle having over 100 seizures a day.
His mama needs to be by his side through this tough time for both of them. All donations are going directly to Kaitlyn to help with living in Portland until Jackson can come home, and to help with this surgery.
We will update when we know more.

Update 7/3- his surgery finished around midnight last night. Everything went according to plan and we are so thankful for the amazing team of doctors and surgeons who gave the best care to Jackson. Baby boy is still swollen and really uncomfortable.
Going into the surgery the doctors explained to us that he will most likely be paralyzed on the entire right side of his body after the procedure. Jackson started moving both of his legs today. This means that Jax was born this way and the right side of his brain has already learned how to compensate. This is truly the best news for baby boy!
Please continue to keep baby and mama in your thoughts and prayers.
As you can imagine weeks in the hospital and brain surgery is very expensive. Please consider donating to this fundraiser for Jackson and his mama.
Thank you!
