Cancer Sucks!!!
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Christiana. Last Tuesday, my partner in life, the father of our daughter, and the best dad/stepdad to ever walk the planet went into the hospital ER. He was admitted due to a build up of almost 3 liters of fluid in his lung. Over the days he was in there, it was discovered that he had a partially collapsed left lung and they drained the fluid and sent it to the lab. Since they couldn't find a cause, and no bacteria was present, they sent him home a couple days ago...
Yesterday afternoon, we got the test results from the fluid and found out that my husband, Brandon, has lung cancer. He's only 39, and the sweetest, strongest person I have ever met in my life. He is so loved by everyone we know. I honestly haven't processed it very well yet, so I don't know what else to say.
He has been out of work since being in the hospital, and this nightmare journey is just beginning. His first oncology appointment is next week. We have no idea how long he will be out of work, and my income alone is not enough to take care of all of our bills. We do have insurance through my work, luckily, but the out of pocket and copay costs alone are going to be very hard to make.
Our family needs help. Even if you can't donate financially, please share this. The goal amount that I've started with is a projection of 3 months of his income plus potential medical costs. This amount won't cover anything extra, just our basic living. We are in the process of applying for other assistance and temp disability for him while he has to be out of work. I work 40 hours a week and it just isn't enough.
I guess I don't know what else to say, but I've attached his after-visit summary notes showing the malignant status of his lungs - they also found 2 nodules that need to be biopsied, and that he was referred to an oncologist.
I will post medical bills as long as donations come in to prove that is what they are going towards. Please keep our family in your hearts and share this fundraiser if you can't donate (I know times are hard for everyone right now). Thank you.
