Lung Transplant Fund

I’ve always been a daddy’s girl.  From the time that I was a little girl until now.  I’ve always looked up to my dad, John Talbott.  He taught me everything he could teach me in life and comforted me on the hard lessons that he couldn’t, the lessons I had to learn on my own.  Ten years ago, he was diagnosed with COPD or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and we managed to carry on, even with his gradual decline in everyday activities.  Four years ago, his decline accelerated.  Early on my mom was able to help, but in 2016 she had a brain bleed that left her unable to help care for him anymore.  I am now their primary caretaker, making trips to the grocery store and picking up prescription’s. My dad would like to be able to be there to help my mom, as she would like to be there for him but the health events in the past few years have made that difficult for them.  After thirty-five years of marriage that’s what you learn to do for each other.  As their daughter, I want to be there for them, as they were for me when I was growing up.  It’s particularly hard to see this and know that I could lose either one of them at any moment and not be able to do anything about it.  BUT there is one thing I can still do, but I need your help.  My dad’s doctor has sent a referral to Integris Nazih Zuhdi Transplant Institute in Oklahoma City for a lung transplant. He was told by his doctors that other than his pulmonary issue, he was in good physical health and felt that it could be the solution to an otherwise incurable condition.

 One of the things holding up this process is the financial part ofthe surgery.  That is why I am reaching out to you now.  My friends, family, and Facebook family to please help us raise the money or donate in any way that you can.  I know at this stage in life many of us have felt the loss of a loved one and I am asking you to please help me hold onto one of mine a little longer.
