On Tuesday, June 16th, Rachel suffered a traumatic brain injury due to a fall down a flight of stairs. Thankfully, she was found quickly and life-flighted to McKay Dee Hospital to be under the care of a neurosurgeon. This extremely unfortunate fall resulted in a skull fracture from the back of her head to the front, a small hemorrhage on her brain and a very serious concussion. Her recovery will be long, slow and sadly, without visitors.
This page is being set up with the hope that we, as her community, can help alleviate some of the stress of mounting medical bills, loss of work and other needs they may be faced with as she recovers. There are many challenges ahead as she deals with healing her brain and physical therapy. Together we can try to take some of the pressure off of her and her family during this time.
Rachel is a beautiful person inside and out. She is a loving wife, dog mom, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and a best friend to everyone she meets. Her selfless character and loyalty to family and friends is shown daily. If you are lucky enough to be on the receiving end of a delicious home cooked meal out at the GGG Farm, a hot cup of coffee from the Ibis, a gentle hug, an impromptu song or a joke told in your honor, you know what I mean when I say she truly is a marvelous person.
Thank you for the love, support and good vibes. It's appreciated more than we can ever express.
ps... check back regularly! We will be sharing her progress.
