Get Andy Home!

On Saturday 8th November, Andy was involved in a road accident in on a small island just off of Krabi in Thailand, where he works setting up teaching positions for Brits to travel and teach English as a foreign language. This is something Andy has done for many years after seeing the difference it made when he himself taught there. He now works to get more schools into the program, as well as placing brits in suitable schools.

Unfortunately, this accident will be life changing. Andy has sustained a number of major injuries, including;

All of the above will require a series of major surgeries that are required immediately. Andy is already battling multiple infections that we are being advised will require additional treatment, with the potential of further amputation. Delay to these surgeries greatly heightens the risk of complications and further issues down the line. These surgeries will be life saving.

Andy's care is currently in a small hospital in Krabi, which does not specialise in this treatment. For better treatment, he needs to be moved to Bangkok hospital as quickly as possible, which is only possible via an expensive, private transfer.

This will be one of many bills Andy and his family will be facing, as this is just the first step to getting him stable enough before a plan can be made to bring him home.

This target is set to fund Andy's transfer from Krabi hospital to Bangkok hospital primarily, but will go on to help towards the cost of further surgeries, medicine and an eventual flight home.
