Support Amanda's toughest fight yet

Donation protected
On behalf of all of our families, we are starting a GoFundMe for my sister-in-law Amanda Van Fleet who is facing the unimaginable.

In 2021, Amanda was diagnosed with Stage 2 triple-negative breast cancer, the most aggressive and deadliest form. She underwent a grueling battle of chemo, surgeries and immunotherapy, and was able to enter remission. Since then, she’s gotten married to the love of her life, Chris, and gave birth to their miracle baby, Logan. We thought we could finally take a deep breath… but we were wrong.

Amanda’s breast cancer has returned- with hostility. In July 2023, only a month after giving birth to Logan, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer that has metastasized throughout her brain, spine, organs and bones. Initially, Amanda’s body had a tremendous response to the medication Lynparza. But this week, we found out the medicine is no longer working and the cancer continues to aggressively spread rapidly throughout her body.

She has multiple teams of doctors through Memorial Sloan Kettering, Hartford Healthcare, along with several outside professionals. They all have been collaborating to create a comprehensive treatment program and are throwing everything at this disease from both the standard care of treatment in combination with integrative medicine and wellness. However, many of the tests and treatments are not covered by insurance. Her doctors want her to start Vitamin C infusions and hyperbaric oxygen chamber treatments, which cost over $2,000 a week out of pocket.

Amanda has also been put on an extreme diet, weekly physical therapy and a huge supplement regimen. She has severe pain and weakness, so much so that she’s now struggling to hold Logan for more than a few minutes. Amanda is running out of options and is beginning to explore clinical trials, none of which are covered by insurance. She needs immediate help and we have no time to waste.

Amanda and Chris are some of the strongest people I know. They’ve already fought this battle once and are now doing it again- but with a baby. Amanda’s been out of work since her original diagnosis in 2021, and Chris has been taking time off work to support Amanda during her treatments while being the only source of income for the family. They need help with all of the medical bills, treatments, hospital travel fees, and out of pocket expenses, on top of regular bills and living expenses. They are both too kind to ask for help, but this beautiful family has a tough fight ahead of them and could really use the support.

If you are unable to give a donation at this time, we totally understand and we ask for your support of any kind. Please keep Amanda, Chris, and Logan in your thoughts, prayers, and prayer groups. We also ask to please respect their privacy and their families’ privacy. Any questions at all, please reach out to me (Emily) directly, you can find my contact info below.
