We are Northaw Transition CIC, a not-for-profit organisation which runs Northaw Communty Orchard. The Orchard is a public space on two fields in the centre of Northaw in Hertfordshire. It is a wonderful spot with wildflower meadows, fruit and nut trees and places to walk and sit away from the hurly burly. The orchard was created in 2014/15 on previously inaccessible land which can now be enjoyed by everyone 24/7. As well as creating a community green space, the Orchard helps to preserve the heritage varieties which grow there. One of the fields is a Local Wildlife Site so management also aims to encourage wildlife and preserve valuable habitats. We also run educational workshops and work parties, and we host organisations such as CultureWood, a family forest school, yoga and meditation groups and others, promoting healthy lifestyles, a love of nature and a sustainable way of living.

We are entirely self funded and rely on the generosity of the public to maintain and run the Orchard.
