Rory Martens Fundraiser

Donation protected
1 year old Rory Martens was diagnosed with a condition called West’s Syndrome (or Infantile Spasms) at the age of 3 months. This is a rare form of epilepsy in which the majority of children suffer mild to severe development issues. Although Rory’s seizures are now under control, the condition has left its impact on his development. Rory can no longer eat by mouth and is fed through an NG tube, he has difficulties holding his head up and cannot roll over.

Over the course of his journey, Rory’s parents Kendall and Clayton have discovered a therapy treatment called the Anat Baniel Method (ABM). They have been visiting ABM practitioners for 3 months and have noticed improvements in Rory’s development - such as improvements in his strength, focus, following movement and his ability to grab and swat at toys. To further assist Rory’s development, Kendall and Clayton will be attending an ABM Parent and Child Workshop in Boulder, Colorado this June. This week long workshop will give them the skills to work on ABM principles at home, allowing them to play a larger part in improving Rory’s development.

The goal of this fundraising initiative is to help cover costs that Kendall and Clayton are incurring with their efforts to improve Rory’s development.
