Service Dog for Lynn

Hi my name is Lynn. I’m an ER nurse. On October 7, 2018 I was attacked in the ER by a patient. As a result, I have several residual deficits including traumatic spinal injuries, minor TBI, broken hand, and knee injuries requiring multiple surgeries to repair. Along with the physical injuries I was diagnosed with PTSD and have night terrors that sometimes cause me to sleepwalk in an effort to “escape”. Thankfully the attacker is in prison but only because he left his hospitalization and murdered his parents.

I was approved for a service animal to assist with mobility and episode interruption when I’m having a night terror. The service dog that was picked for me has been training since February 2022. He will be ready for me to pick up and train with on October 17th 2022. His name is Bentley and he is a Newfoundland/poodle mix. His height and weight will be helpful in his mobility tasks. He will weigh approximately 80lbs when full grown.

As you may know, this is not not covered by insurance and there is an extremely long waiting list for any service animal. They are very expensive. The one that is being trained for me is $30,000. I’ve already paid half and am desperately saving and selling personal items to get the balance. My recent move near family unexpectedly drained what I had saved for him and now am desperate for help.

I have a contract with the training academy that states if I do not pay the balance by the time I pick him up, I forfeit the $15,000 I paid as well as the dog. I am happy to share it for proof.

All money will go towards the final purchase. There are other costs like the plane ticket, hotel, and rental car that I’m working on paying as well.
