Help Veronica Fight Cancer
Donation protected
Veronica is a sweet 19 year old from Eastern Washington. She plays piano, loves reading, history, drawing and loves Irish dancing. She loves laughing and quoting old movies with her little sister.
In early August 2018, Veronica visited the doctor for knee pain. After tests, she was diagnosed with a serious form of Osteosarcoma. The tumor wraps around and in her thigh bone.
The doctors recommended conventional treatment of 10 months of chemo and major surgery which would give her a somewhat limited success rate of the cancer not coming back with a lot of damage to her immune system and other organs.
Faced with those odds, her family has opted for an alternative treatment which uses state of the art cancer care and has a much higher success rate with little damage to the rest of her body. This treatment targets the stem cells of the cancer specifically from many angles while building her immune system.
However, Veronica's parents Dan & Debra Cools have an HMO that won't pay for treatment outside of their network which means none of the alternative care Veronica needs will be covered. Her family is using savings and financing against their home to help toward the costs of this treatment.
This treatment costs upwards of $10,000/week. It covers room and board, specialized treatment, basic care and lab work. She will need to be there for a minimum of 5-6 weeks and then occasional return trips for subsequent treatments may be needed.
The family would be immensely grateful for any help you may be willing to give toward Veronica's care.
