5 year old Boy with Heart Failure

My five-year-old nephew was born with a heart problem. He was born in Greece and the doctors there performed a corrective surgery that damaged the chamber of his heart. The initial doctor that performed the first surgery suggested that he was fine and would not need a transplant His parents were not confident since the child kept losing oxygen and his heart was failing. They refused to stay with that doctor so they transferred him to another hospital in Athens, Greece They kept seeing different doctors for different opinions and they kept getting a different
diagnosis while the child was in and out of the hospital every week. He is not allowed to leave his house unless he goes to the hospital because of his condition. They are petrified that he may pick up a virus or bacterial infection that may be lethal with his current condition. For 2 years we have been trying to get his test results in order to get opinions from doctors here in the US The latest news from his current doctor in Greece state that he needs a heart transplant. This was the worst news. We finally got in touch with Boston Children's Hospital which was able to connect with the doctor that he's currently seeing in Greece right now. Boston believes that a transplant may not be necessary based on the latest results that were sent from Greece. Unfortunately the only way to truly diagnose this is to bring him here to the US and run tests at Boston Children's Hospital so they can make a proper diagnosis. They did warn us that at the end, they too may recommend a heart transplant. Unfortunately since they are from Greece they do not have insurance to help support the costs in order to run these tests. We are anticipating approximately $100,000 to cover the cost of these tests alone We are trying to raise this money so our adorable five-year-old nephew can get the proper diagnosis and care that he may need. We have a long road ahead of us. We appreciate any support anyone can give him. God bless!
