JVR Award - Outstanding Defense Verdict in a Common Carrier Case

Myself and my colleagues at the Chicago Transit Authority's Law Department are devastated to share that Chief Attorney Kirsten Doyle passed away on Saturday, January 30, two weeks after her 50th birthday after a valiant struggle with cancer. Kirsten was an amazing wife, mother, mentor, trial attorney, colleague and public servant. She was vivacious and spirited and openly passionate about her job being a trial attorney for CTA. With blonde hair (sometimes pink or purple) her trial heels put her well over six feet, towering over everyone else in the courtroom. She was recognized and will be remembered throughout the Chicago legal community by judges and opposing counsel as a talented and trusted attorney. In 2018, she was awarded the Jury Verdict Reporter's Outstanding Defense Verdict in a Common Carrier Case. She always loved her work for CTA, working up until a few days before she passed.
She and her devoted husband Jim, who was at her side when she passed and who is also a long-term CTA employee in Bus Maintenance and the Law Department, share four children: Lera (21), Jimmy (21), Jeffrey (20) and JD (17). The oldest three are all in college; the youngest is a senior in high school.
Kirsten was key in providing financial support to her children for college, a particularly heavy lift with three in college and one going to college next year. Please consider helping out her husband Jim and their children as they navigate Kirsten's significant loss and move forward in their lives without her and without her financial support. Thank you.
