Raise Money for Leukaemia UK

Hiya, my name is Maddie and I am Head of School and a House prefect at my school. My friend, Isabella, is a senior prefect and my fellow House prefect for our house.

We are passionate about raising money for Leukaemia UK, as the charity is really close to our community. In March 2023, we lost Mr Smith, more commonly known as Jools, to Leukaemia. Not only was he our Head of Music; he was also a friend, colleague, husband and Father and his passing was devastating to so many.

Now Isabella and I are representing the house that he was proud to be in.

With Sports day approaching, on the 5th of July, we wanted to do something from us as an extra special celebration of what a truly wonderful man Jools was, therefore, we are holding an ice bucket challenge, in which, myself, Isabella and 5 teachers will pour a bucket of freezing cold water and ice over us, in front of our fellow students, teachers and parents as a way to raise money in a way that will make people smile!

Because our house colour is yellow, Isabella and I will also be wearing banana costumes as we are drenched, to unify our school pride and passion for charity!

We want to be cold for a cause on the 5th of July and raise as much as we possibly can to not only aid an amazing charity, but celebrate a man who was dear to so many.
