Protect Healthcare Professionals of Greater Philadelphia Area

We are a group of Chinese American volunteers living in Lower Merion. Our family members, friends and neighbors are doctors, nurses and first responders working at Penn Medicine, CHOP, Mainline Health and etc. These healthcare professionals are battling Covid-19 on the frontline to protect all of us. However, many hospitals in Philadelphia area are short of PPEs and health workers are scouring for masks on their own. They are our heroes and they shouldn’t be sent to the frontline without proper personal protection!

We are fundraising to purchase and deliver medical standard face masks (N95, surgical masks, etc.) and other protection equipment to the local hospitals. We have already connected with health professionals from hospitals including HUP, CHOP, Mainline Health, Temple, Einstein and the PPEs purchased using the donation will be made directly to doctors and nurses at these entities. Please note that we work with a local ER doctor who helps us to dispatch the PPE, and priority is given to ICU/ER department.  

The medical PPEs we are purchasing using this donation are from manufacturers in China that are FDA approved. The reason we are sourcing overseas supply is due to the limited inventory of PPEs in the United States and we do not want to compete for supplies against local hospitals. We also want to fully disclose that it is possible that when this batch of masks enter the US custom, it might be confiscated by the federal government to be used in areas that are in more dire situation such as NY state. If that’s the case, we still consider this a good outcome as it helps the medical professionals fighting the disease on the frontline.

Please note that our funding goal is a moving target. Whenever we raise enough money for a shipment of PPE (usually comes with a minimum requirement due to logistic), we purchase, ship and dispatch to healthcare workers. We then continue to fundraise till we hit the minimum amount for another shipment, and repeat.

我们是一群住在Lower Merion的华人。我们的家人、朋友、邻居有不少是医护人员，正在医疗前线奋战Covid-19来保护大众。然而费城地区的不少医院紧缺医护人员需要的防护措施，有不少医护人员甚至需要自己寻找口罩和防护服。医护人员是保卫大众安全健康的英雄，他们急需合规的个人保障装备！

华人志愿者们号召大家联合起来共同为我们费城地区的医院和医疗机构捐助购买医疗防护装置（包括N95和医用外科口罩）。我们已经和包括HUP，CHOP和Mainline Health的医护人员取得了联系，您的捐助所采购的PPE会直接送达当地医院或医疗机构。
