Building a Well in Remembrance of Yousef Asfour

Assalamu Alaykom wa Rahmat Allah wa barakatu. May peace, mercy and blessings be bestowed upon you.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of 15 year old Yousef Asfour on August 30th after a long battle with cancer. The eyes of our community are shedding tears and the hearts are grieved, and we will not say except what pleases Allah (SWT).
Yousef was a kind, gentle soul. He made an effort to always make a difference in the lives of those around him. Regardless of what he went through, Yousef was always smiling. Throughout his battle with cancer, he tried to bring awareness and donations to cancer research. He was always kind and giving to the health care workers around him. This was Yousef’s character. With his last post, he asked everyone to spread kindness, to spread positivity, to spread hope and make a difference.
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased)."

We have come together as a community to continue with what Yousef has taught us in his short 15 years of life. We are hoping to build a Water Well in his name that will benefit those who need it the most for many years to come. May his scale of good deeds continue to increase with every use of this well.
100% of donations will go towards Sadaqah Jariyahs in Yousef Asfour’s name. With authorization from the Asfour family, All donations past target ($5000 for the well) will be withdrawn and given to his family to continue to do good deeds in his name inshaAllah (Through Islamic Relief).
