A Smile For College

Donation protected

This is a story of paying it forward.  My name is Matt Alliston.  I have been fortunate enough to meet a lot of great people in my life,  and this summer has been no exception.

I recently met a man named Adam Donahue.  Adam is from West Hamlan West Virginia but is currently living in Louisville Kentucky working with a childhood friend.  In getting to know Adam, I learned a story about the tough road he has had in recent years.

In 2010, Adam was in a car accident that changed his life forever.  The impact of the accident nearly shattered his entire skull, and in the process, all of his teeth were broken.  Due to all the other injuries sustained, he was unable to work for quite some time and has been playing "catch up" since.  Unfortunately, replacing his teeth took a back seat to everything else due to all the costs associated as well as lack of insurance.

When Adam was able to work again, he used all of his income to help support his 3 kids as well as his own personal and daily expenses.  Work in West Hamlan was scarce  so a childhood friend, Chris Williamson, invited him to work for his company in Louisville as well as giving him a place to stay while working.  This is how Adam and I came to know one another.

I am fortunate enough to know some great people who have done a really great thing to help Adam out.   Through networking, we have been able to get the dental work donated to extract Adam's teeth, have dentures made, and the time and office expenses donated to have the work completed.  Dr. Kenneth A. Bell with Bell Dental stepped up in a big way donating all services for the detnal work that Adam needs.  In addition, Kerry Patterson with Keller Laboratories has also stepped up in a big way and has agreed to donate the dentures.  For the first time in over 5 years, Adam is looking forward to smiling!!!  Without people like Dr. Bell and Kerry Patterson, this would not be a possibility!

The original plan was to raise enough money to cover some of the costs as well as exchange work for the time and costs associated.  This was until Dr. Bell  insisted that any money collected or raised be paid forward in a different way.

In 2014, a Louisville dentist by the name of BJ Treece passed away leaving 3 beautiful children behind.....Lucy, Margo, & Elyn.  Dr. Bell  has asked that any money raised be donated to the college fund of these 3 children.

This is a story of great people, doing great things to help one another out.  Your donations will allow for a man to smile with confidence again as well as helping 3 young children get a start on funding their future.

I can't thank you enough for your time in reading this, and can never thank you enough for any donation you are willing to give.

Many Thanks to all who are helping this dream become a reality and specifically to Dr. Kenneth A. Bell , Kerry Patterson, and Dr. Chris Mattingly of Mattingly and Howell Orthodontics.  Without them, this remains just a dream and with the support of everyone willing to donate, the dream becomes a reality for not only Adam, but also Dr. BJ Treece's 3 beautiful daughters.
