Anthony is 29, he’s a son, a husband, a brother and a friend. He’s the life of the party, the one who will do anything for a laugh, and certainly the biggest and most devoted Steelers fan on this earth.
Born and raised on Long Island, NY. Anthony grew up a die hard Steelers fan. He’d travel often to Heinz Stadium to cheer on his favorite team and he probably was the loudest in the stadiums attendance. He took a trip Sunday, October 6th with his dad and a good friend to watch the Steelers play the Ravens.
While at the game he developed a severe headache and neck pain. He was rushed to Allegheny General Hospital where he underwent immediate brain surgery. Anthony suffered from a very rare, and very traumatic brain injury. He had an intracerebral hemorrhage, a massive sudden brain bleed.
Currently Anthony is making strides. He is able to acknowledge who he is, he can squeeze your hand and nod yes and no. He is finally able to breathe on his own. He can nod to commands and count to 5 on his fingers. He is still in use of a feeding tube and still is not speaking but we know he is strong and is going to fight his way through this. We want to share Anthony’s story because we know he has touched so many lives, created so many laughs and strong friendships. We know he is special to everyone he meets and there have been so many people yearning to contribute and help in any way that they can. Wether it is a donation, a prayer or just awareness spread, we are truly grateful. If you know Anthony, you know he is full of life and we want to make sure he is able to get the best care, support, and positive energy that is needed in times like this.
Please help out and support Anthony by donating today. Anything helps, no prayer is unheard and no donation is too small.
Thank you for taking the time to read Anthony’s story. The funds collected will be primarily used for Anthony’s long term rehabilitation care along with expenses that will be incurred in support of his care.
