St Benedict's Hospice Fundraiser
Donation protected
I'm fundraising for the amazing St Benedict's Hospice who are supporting our family through the worst experience of our lives.
In 2019, after the birth of my nephew, my beautiful sister was diagnosed with Stage 4 cervical cancer which has now spread to her lymphnodes, spine, chest and stomach. Beth has been under the care of St Benedict's since just before Christmas and their support has been invaluable. These people are literally angels. Here are a few of the ways that they have supported Beth and our family:
Respite hospice care when Beth has been no longer able to manage her pain at home,
Help, advice and support with all aspects of palliative cancer support,
A psychologist working with Beth's autistic son,
Gifts for the children at Christmas when Beth was too ill to go shopping,
A specialist chair for Beth to sleep in because she can't sleep in a bed,
A chair to help her when she has the energy to cook,
A wheelchair to help her get about,
Medication, prescriptions and support to manage her pain,
A hug, words of kindness, patience, advice, and help with Harry Potter lego when the instructions were terrible!
The money will be used to support the nurses at the centre to have somewhere to go when they lose a patient. It will go towards vital equipment to help the hospice psychologist support bereaved families, and, depending on how much we raise, Beth would also like it to go towards some complementary therapies for the nurses who help so much.
