Wack - A short film

What is WACK?
WACK is a short film about Malik; an amateur rapper suffering from an existential crisis brought on by writer’s block. When Malik's nemesis, Sam, decides to sling his rap CD’s on the street corner, Malik has to decide whether or not to confront his self-doubt or continue down the path of self-destruction. 

The Film shines a spotlight on the often ongoing toxic relations between artists of different disciplines. 

Why WACK?
At its heart, WACK is a narrative that focuses on the not-so-glamorous side of music: actually making it. It builds upon the Director/Writer's (Stephen) personal experience of struggling through challenges and setbacks in order to achieve his own goals. The actual production of this movie is emblematic of such an expererience.

The film offers an opportunity to expose up-and-coming hip hop artists in the Philadelphia area, whose music connects with the movie's central theme.

What's next ?
The film is in the final production phase. The next steps include shoot finalization (and retakes if necessary), editing, sound mixing & mastering and color grading. At the end of this approx. 4-6 month period the film will then "go to market" through one of a number of distribution strategies (e.g. film festivals, online channels, theatre screenings etc.).
