Hello, I'm Wael Shehab, married and have 3 children in addition to my father, mother, two brothers, and a sister.

In 2016, I received a scholarship to complete my master's studies in the People's Republic of China. We lived a decent life in China even though the scholarship salary is not enough for the life of a married student with children. I finished my master's degree with distinction in 2019 and applied to complete my doctoral studies. At the end of 2022, I decided to return to Gaza to visit my family and to work with some French experts regarding my doctoral thesis so that I could graduate. Now it's been almost a year and a half since we have been in Gaza. I was scheduled to return to China at the end of 2023. But circumstances wanted this destructive war to be before this date. Our house and shops were completely. destroyed in Gaza, so we fled from our homes.. My son's friend who met him inside this shelter was martyred. We are now near the Egyptian border without electricity, water or medicine, and we only have some canned food. I ran out of money because of the crazy rise in prices, and the last amount I had left with me was stolen by some thieves during the crowding and people's stampede. The occupation artillery and military strikes are bombing places around us, And who wants to cross the border to Egypt must pay to coordinate travel in the amount of 7000 US dollars per person. Just to enter Egypt. They ask me for $70,000 to save my life, my children and my family. All I want is to protect my family, complete my PhD, live a decent life and build a better future for my children in a safe place.
