Moiha Family Home Destroyed by Tree in Waimea
Donation protected
Aloha,
During high winds the morning of March 7th, our co-worker S. Moiha was working from her home in Kuhio Village (Hawaiian Homelands) when a 100ft pine tree fell into her aunty's bedroom, just on the other side of the wall. Luckily, her auntie was not inside, but it has left half of their family home destroyed.
The tree was not part of their property; insurance will not be covering any of the expenses. The tree removal alone is nearly $5,000 and rebuilding will cost a minimum of $25K. So in the spirit of aloha, we are gathering the support of our community to help!
