Waimea Valley Landslide
Donation protected
On Monday, 1/4/22 a massive rockslide took out the vehicle and foot access to Waimea Valley residents homes. The residents who rely on the swing bridge off of Menehune Road can no longer access their homes as the bridge was fully destroyed by the rockslide. Access may be limited for several months or possibly longer for many of these residents while Kauai County works to first secure the slide, clear the road before moving forward in building a new bridge.
During this time residents will have to use river crossings and UTV trails to get to and from their homes. Families will rely on UTV vehicles to shuttle kids to and from school as well as those needing to get to and from work. This is Kauai's rainy season and the ability to not get across the river safely may cause possible relocation expenses for these families.
All net profits from these fundraising efforts will go directly to the affected families to help off set the unexpected costs while rebuilding and assist with the need for living supplies.
Mahalo for your kindness and generosity.
