Here is a little film I have made about two of the living legends of the Welsh harness racing scene: Myfanwy and her horse Little Tim, who have a combined age of 80 and are still racing even after battling cancer and colic and the loss of Myfanwy’s husband Paul.
If you enjoyed it and would like me to make another (better) film, please consider making a small donation. Monies raised will be split as follows:
- 50% of the money raised will go to Wales and Border Counties Racing (WBHR: find us at www.welsh-trotting.co.uk ), our racing organisation, to help with the boring but essential cost of insurance. We’re all amateurs and we race for the love of the sport, but unfortunately when it comes to funding we fall between all the cracks
- 25% will go on equipment (yes, audio!) and other resources to help make my next film better. Some training for me wouldn’t go amiss… even better I could outsource sound next time to someone who knows what they’re doing!
- 25% royalties for Myfanwy and Little Tim, all of which will undoubtedly be spent on Little Tim
I appreciate this is an unusual format for a fundraiser, doing a week’s worth of work (maybe more) and then tentatively asking for a little bit of money if people like it, but this year has taught me that if you don’t try you’ll never know. So I’m trying something different in the hope it’s enthusiastically received by people who love Myfanwy and Tim, or harness racing, or anyone who enjoys the sight of someone who refuses to be knocked down, embracing life to the full.
Thank you for any donations however small! And if you can’t donate I’d still love to hear your comments. I know there is plenty of room for improvement but I’m one woman chasing Myfanwy round a field with an iPhone, whilst also responsible for a toddler and a couple of my own racehorses, and this was the best I could do with the resources at my disposal. I hope you enjoy Myfanwy’s story.
