Walk For Jon

My brother Jonathan Sherling is battling a very rare cancer called Thymic Carcinoma. We found out in December 2022, and he immediately had surgery to remove a metastatic brain tumour and was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer which started in the Thymus. It had spread to his lungs, and subsequently his liver and abdominal lymph nodes just a few months ago.

After a year of various treatments, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy and targeted therapies, their life has been turned upside down, preventing Jonathan from working after recently founding a tech start up just 6 months before his diagnosis.

His amazing wife Susie has continued to work full time, his friends and my Dad have helped raised funds to support his outsized medical expenses. They have two children, Ray aged 6 and Remy aged 2 and are facing increased childcare and medical expenses as we try everything to win this incredibly difficult battle. The US medical system provides great care at a remarkably high cost and the experimental treatments Jonathan requires are not always covered by insurance.

On February 7th 2024, a group of his London-based friends and family will walk over 15 miles on a circular route in Radlett. Each walker will donate/raise a minimum of $300 to take part, we will be looking to smash the target and show Jon, Susie, Ray and Remy the huge support network that they have here in the UK. Whilst we may not be with them day in and day out in the Big Apple, we are all still right by their sides.
