Hi Everyone,
This is Bronwyn - a Convent High / Holy Family College Old Girl from South Africa.
Bronwyn was detained in Qatar whilst travelling en route to China to return to her teaching job.
She was under house arrest due being detained at the airport and a judgement placed upon her for outstanding debt from when she lived there previously.
She accepts responsibility for this and has been through a huge shock. But this doesn’t change the fact that she is now in serious trouble.
The money already raised has been used for legal fees to help get her judgement and house arrest revoked but she still needs funds for basic daily essentials like food and clothes as she was held in the country with just her one suitcase that she was travelling with.
She cannot leave the country and needs money to pay for travel to and from interviews etc so that she can secure a job to help her be able to repay her debt.
Money is just money in this world but when you don’t have it, even £50 / R1000 is a massive life changing amount.
The debt outstanding is close to £20 000 which collectively CAN be raised really easily.
By sharing this post far and wide and reaching out to every single person you know, it can be done. If 250 people chip in with £80, the target can me met easily. The more people chip in, the less each of us has to put in.
This is one of our own - and she is in crisis. Please let us help her.
South Africans around the world, could you please come together and help a fellow Saff?
Convent girls and Marist boys, let’s show what we are made of and help get Bronwyn home.
