Walk for Piran

Hi I’m Maria, mum of Piran who is 15 years old who suffers with Cerebral Palsy and is non-verbal. He needs 100% physical support in every physical activity. He’s a great character, bright and very sociable but has limited ability to communicate due to his severe disability. We’re hoping to raise funds for a specialist computer called a Tobii Eyegaze which will open up his world. The technology picks up where his eyes are looking on the screen, allowing him to do anything from play games through to learning, especially to read and write, tell us what he wants to do, how he feels etc. It basically does everything your tablet does and more. Most importantly Piran has had significant pain for over a decade and apart from him screaming he has no other way of telling us where the pain is.. it’s been extremely difficult to understand what has been causing the pain. He’s been left with significant bowel problems and by using this machine he can hopefully tell us more efficiently how we can help him.

I have a quotation from Tobii and to purchase this is £10,000. This comes with a floor stander and wheelchair mount which will allow him to access it from anywhere. Watching my child suffer has been unbearable and this would be the biggest opportunity to allowing him to access the best life possible.
