Walk For Rhys Chambers..

On 18/01/23 Rhys was diagnosed with Acute promyelocytic leukemia, a rare form of blood cancer.

This is basically where the blood cells don’t fully mature before leaving the bone marrow and becoming cancerous.

The doctors in Castle Hill are looking after him really well and believe he has a great chance of beating this disease.

It’s going to be a slow process and not easy but with a positive mindset and his family, friends and all the support we believe he can do it.

The next stages are to treat this with medication to try and get the cells maturing properly once all his blood counts are within the correct ranges.

Mollie and Rhys have lost so much since Rhys's diagnosis as they were due to get married in July and going to vegas to do so, however, the doctor has told him not to make any plans for at least a year so they have had to cancel all there plans to marry, loosing all there money in the process. Mollie and Rhys still want to marry this year but have come to the realization they will be doing it close to home which is still going to cost more money. Also, Rhys isn't going to be working for at least a year, Mollie has had to cut her hours down for work as she travels to see Rhys 7 days a week at castle hill hospital where Rhys is being treated.

To try and help support Mollie and Rhys in this difficult time, we are going to try raise them some funds to help towards the money they have lost and help pay for their new wedding when the times right for Rhys and his treatment. Also, to help mollie with travel expenses so she can continue to visit Rhys everyday.

some are going to be walking from mollie and Rhys house to castle hill hospital and some are walking from Humber bridge, Any contributions towards our sponsored walk would be amazing and truly appreciated. Also if you would like to be added to the list and join us on this walk anyone is welcome, you do not have to start at the beginning you can join the walk at any point as we are aware it is a long way. some people are walking there and back.
