Walk, Swim and step 5 heart support (2 wards 3 charities)

Donation protected
Hi i am alison, in April 2024 i was put into an enforced cardiac arrest, the outcome looked bleak as i was in a sedated and ventilated coma in intensive care.......
Between today and 21st april (my re-birthday), i am going back to swimming at the village, this is a tough quest for me, as cpr ruined my upper body strength. I also struggle with steps opting for lifts and walking is a task so walking in water is going to be tricky.

I am aiming to complete at least

100 swimming lengths
100 walking lengths
500 steps climbed

It may not seem much, but to a cardiac arrest survivor, its a mountain.

Help me to support the 5 organisations who have helped me recover, in the lead up to my rebirth.

.The Intensive care unit at Walsall manor hospital saved my life, the support was amazing and gave me the start to my recovery.

Ward 7 at the manor hospital, provided the aftercare, the nurses and some health assistants were amazing, they cared for me when i couldnt move, t
brushed my hare and assisted me to the toilet when i was unable to walk.

Walsall heartcare have played the biggest part in my rehabilitation..i first arrived struggling to walk 6 minutes in entirety, due to broken ribs and broken sternal from the 23 minutes cpr i had to return me back to spontaneous circulation of life! I can now do an hour gym workour increasing monthly. The support of being around other patients is unbelievable, this service will never go out of my life, my loath for gyms has turned into love.

Sudden cardiac arrest uk, this charity after sitting alone as a sudden cpr survivor for 8 konths, has come into my life, this amazing charity provide every survivor with the information they need.

British heart foundation, without their rèseach, the techniques used in my cpr resuscitation may not have been enough to ensure the damage to my brain was limited and oxygen maximised.
