Walk the Windmills (with Lochside Connections)
Donation protected
Lochside Connections is a Meeting Centre in Forfar for people living with dementia and their family carers. Since opening in May 2022, the membership has steadily grown (almost to capacity), with members enjoying a programme of activities designed to help them adapt to the challenges that living with dementia can bring. This includes the chance to get together socially, to be creative, to get active and to share lunch.
The members of Lochside Connections tell us that coming along to the Centre makes a big difference to their quality of life and helps them to live better with their condition.
Lochside Connections relies on a variety of funding sources to keep its doors open. These include membership fees, grants and fund-raising. They all combine to meet the costs of staff, programme and premises. You can make a real difference by supporting Walk the Windmills and helping us to provide this valuable service to the Forfar community.
Throughout the month of April, members, staff, family and friends of Lochside Connections aim to walk/run/cycle the distance from Forfar to the the original Dementia Meeting Centre in Amsterdam and home again (approx. 1500 miles), raising funds as they go...
The target to raise has been set at £5000 - approximately one year of food costs for the Meeting Centre.
