Walk This Way for Fly Anyway
Donation protected
Hello! I’m Felicity and I live in Chorley, just a minute from the Leeds – Liverpool canal. It’s a canal that I walk or run on almost every day. I’ve walked three miles south to Adlington and four miles north to Riley Green. And I started to wonder what the rest of the canal was like.
So I decided to walk the whole thing. In six days. An average of 21 miles a day. Do-able, but not easy. And I figured the only logical thing would be to use my efforts to raise some money for charity.
Enter powerhouse speaking coach Dani Wallace. I’ve been in Dani’s circle for a few years, and I’m always blown away by her passion and her honesty about her own life. Dani experienced domestic abuse, both as a child and at the hands of partners, and vowed that if she was ever to survive her situation and go on to create any kind of success for herself, then she would use any platform she created to help other people overcome adversity, particularly in the field of domestic abuse recovery.
Dani’s FlyAnyway Foundation helps people who have experienced domestic abuse to access a range of expert volunteers to help them not only build a business, but a whole new life. And I’m delighted to support it by raising money by walking from Leeds to Liverpool in just 6 days.
On Sunday 17th September, my walking boots and I will leave Leeds Waterfront. I will stop overnight at Bingley, Gargrave, Burnley, Chorley and Burscough. On Friday 22nd September, 6 days and 128 miles later, I will arrive at Liverpool Docks.
Your donations mean that we can help survivors to access some of the best business mentors and business service providers in the UK and eventually globally, to build successful and sustainable businesses.
They will also encourage me to keep placing one foot in front of the other on my pilgrimage from East to West! And maybe you can come to Liverpool on 22nd September to celebrate my achievement!
