Walk with Amanda

Hi everyone! It has been a while since we posted an updated. But it looks like we have reached 50% of our fundraising goal for Amanda and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to get the word out there that she is still in need of your help and support! Amanda has completed her chemo and radiation course and is finally starting to feel like she can breath again. Amanda is finally free from this and we pray that she receives good news as time progresses. She will continue to have close surveillance from her oncologist and will require frequent screenings to ensure that the cancer has not returned. Her journey is not yet over. And we still need your support. Amanda was unable to work during her chemo and radiation treatments. And she has been unable to find a job. Not only do I ask that you keep her in your prayers during this time, but I ask that you help her financially as her family continues this journey. She has been so brave and has made it out of this with a smile on her face. Please share this with your friends and family. Help us to meet the goal! Help us to reach $5000 to support Amanda and her family!! We thank you so much for taking the time to read this and support her through this journey.
Hi everyone, my name is Lana and I have created this gofundme page to support a good friend of mine. Please meet Amanda Wilkins. Amanda is 32 years old, she is a loving wife to Jeremy Wilkins and mother to Madison. She enjoys searching for shark teeth and eating a good meal of Maryland blue crabs. Amanda enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her family.
On March 19, 2018 Amanda received the news that would change her life forever. The diagnosis of invasive ductal carcinoma, known to many as breast cancer. Her cancer is considered stage 2 B, an aggressive and invasive form of breast cancer.
Amanda recently had a lumpectomy and the removal of one cancerous lymph node, however a second lymph node is too dangerous for the surgeons to operate on. Amanda meets with her oncologist on May 22nd to discuss her treatment plan and will start chemotherapy and radiation treatments shortly after.
In addition to the chemotherapy and radiation treatments, Amanda will require multiple mammograms, MRIs, and screenings throughout the year that her insurance does not cover. An additional cost that insurance will not cover is the use of cold cap therapy during chemotherapy. Cold cap therapy would allow Amanda to receive the treatments with minimum hair loss. As mentioned before, insurance companies don't pay for these and the cost is $500 a month.
Amanda needs our help. Jeremy was reassigned from Florida to Andrews AFB, MD in December and Amanda has been activly looking for a job since then with no luck. The money raised through this campaign will go directly to Amanda and her family to help pay for medical bills and medical expenses throughout her journey. She can beat this, and we can help her overcome some of the challenges that she will face. Will you help me raise money to support Amanda and her family??
