WALKING FOR AUNTY ESTHERS CANCER TREATMENT

The girls wanted to get involved in some fundraising for their aunty Esther to raise money for her cancer treatment. We need to raise a total of £130.000.00.

So our challenge will be to walk around Rother valley lake. Totalling 3 and 1/2 miles of walking. On Saturday 12th october 2024.

of course we would have to spread this walk out across a whole day. With plenty of pit stops , playing and food breaks in between.

olivia is 3 years old with sever learning difficulties and hypotonia in all four limbs. We are awaiting genetic testing results for her condition but we no she has a syndrome of some type.

isabel is olivias 1 year old little sister who loves to be beside olivia and adores her aunty Esther.

together anything is possible.

this will be quit the challenge for our girls especially olivia as she has walking difficulties and special needs. However we aim to make this walk as fun for them as possible to help get them around the lake.

. Hi my name is Esther.

I desperately need your help to save my life.

Those who know me, will be aware that I have cancer. However I have always remained fairly private about the severity, prognosis and day-to-day struggles of living with advanced cancer, so please know setting this page up and asking for your help has not been easy for me to do.

I am 43, married and mum to Heidi who is 14.

I have been dealing with stage 4 melanoma since my little girl was 4 months old.

Up until 2 years ago, my cancer was managed by surgically removing the tumours. I have had approximately 20 surgeries including 4 tumours out of my right lung, my gallbladder removed containing a large tumour, a tumour from my pancreas, and tumours from my hip, chest, bicep, armpit and neck. I have coped well with the disabilities these surgeries have caused and been able to live a normal and happy life with my family.

2 years ago surgery was no longer an option and I started drug treatment. Firstly chemotherapy then quickly moving on to immunotherapy. But it is not working.

My oncology team agree that the best treatment option for me right now is a treatment called TILs whereby one of my tumours will be removed and the fighter cells from it multiplied in a lab then trillions of these fighter cells infused back into my body.

This is the best treatment in the world for melanoma and offers me a real chance of a cure.

Unfortunately this is unavailable in the UK. My only option to receive this life-saving treatment is to travel to Israel. The last place I want to travel is a war zone but it is my only option.

This treatment is very costly, approx £120,000-130,000.
