Walking the 3 peaks In memory of Paulette
Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Alcohol Change UK and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
This is a sad story to tell, but I'm going to do it, because if I can help one person - then it will make a difference.
Attitudes to alcohol were different in the 80's and 90's to how they are now. And not everyone is able to manage and self-regulate in the same way as others. My sister had mild special needs and really began to turn to alcohol as a way of forgetting about her problems. She was 48 when she died. I can't describe how hard it is to watch. I remember feeling shame, confusion, heartbreak and then, I just needed people who understood to talk to who understood.
Alcohol change UK help to change laws around alcohol, they lobby the government and provide a listening, safe space for people like me who have been affected by alcoholism and trauma by losing a loved one. And they help people who are in recovery find purpose again.
I am delighted to be raising money for them and doing this walk in memory of my sister. I can't bring her back, but any positive change I can make I will.
I'll be flying the flag. Please can you support and help us reach our target.
Thank you so so much,
May the 4th be with you!
