Walking the roof of africa (Kilimanjaro)

Hi my name is Mikella, i have recently been given the opportunity to walk the roof of Africa Kilimanjaro in November 2024. There are two reason for me walking this beautiful mountain. To raise money for the Ape sanctuary and for me to be able to walk the mountain.
- the Ape sanctuary which is based in Swansea, South Wales UK. Which is for retired monkeys, and is used by the company I work for a lot and benefits the young people that I work with and support.
- 2nd I am a teacher who works within a behaviour school. These young people have and do face various challenges such as behaviours, in care system, break downs within family environment, have experienced trauma in various ways which have affected their lives. This walk will demonstrate how i will prepare for my challenge walking this mountain both physically and mentally, Also how other adults and myself over come these challenges that face us through everyday life. This walk is very important to me due to the passion to support them in their needs.
These young people inspire me on a daily basis by the resilience they show.
As i walk KILIMANJARO my pupils will be involved every step of the way by watching my progress supporting and encouraging me with every step i take to reach the peak.
