walk to end violence 2015

My name is James, last year 2014 I walked from mile 0 in Victoria B.C to Ottawa ON. It was to raise awareness and honor the survivor's of Indian Residential Schools, and the children that never came home. I had no sponsors however with the Facebook event created by my son, and the eventual web page created by a friend in Calgary "Walking for the survivor's and the family that never made it home" I had received email money transfers to help cover things I needed from medical supplies, food and finding and shelter. After I reached Ottawa there was ceremony on Victoria island with over 30 sacred pipes. At the end of the ceremony I was approached by elders and young men, they said "We need to do something to stop violence in our communities!" So I gave my word to walk across Canada once again with others. So March 28th of this year 2015 we will leaving from here Victoria B.C mile 0 and heading to Parliament Hill Ottawa ON. This will be a unity walk with not just First Nations men and women, but men and women of all culture's. I am asking you join us. Violence affects us all! The funding I am asking for will go to foods fuel camp equipment and camp grounds and hotels for our elders. As well as travel to get elders and women back home. I have 25 men confirmed to start and will be gathering more as we make our way across Canada. I am looking to do 30 k a day and this will take us around 5 months to reach Ottawa. Thank you for any support you maybe able to provide
