Walled Lake M.S. Football-Save our Sport
Donation protected
Middle school football has been a part of Walled Lake Schools for over fifty years. Now, however, our tradition of teaching self-discipline, teamwork, and fitness is in jeopardy. In 2014, the Walled Lake Consolidated School District voted to discontinue funding for its Middle School football. That means that in addition to the $200 pay-to-play fee that the District receives from each student-athlete, we must also raise the yearly costs to fund the Walled Lake Middle School football programs. Clifford H. Smart, Walnut Creek, Geisler and Sarah Banks Middle Schools all have existing football fields, helmets, jerseys, and pads. But to continue playing, the District requires that the Middle School Football Boosters raise $18,000 this year to fund on-going costs such as:
· Coaches;
· Equipment maintenance, repair, and replacement; and
· Field maintenance.
