About the Director
Gregory J. Fields is the editor, writer, and director of Wallflower. He's a multidisciplinary artist based out of Santa Fe New Mexico who is committed to storytelling through an absurdist and naturalistic lens. He's committed not only to highlighting the landscape and vibrant culture of Santa Fe but using the film medium to feature local artists and businesses. He is excited to direct his fourth short film in Santa Fe.
Why this Story?
People fascinate me, they fascinate me so much that I tell stories of people being themselves. Being able to inspire others to explore the many facets of themselves has become very important to me over the years. I hope that by sharing my curiosity about the world, I can inspire others to be more curious about themselves.
Creativity, whether it is artistic or not, is the central theme of this project. Lewis is an artist who must express himself regardless of his situation or circumstance. He is an extension of myself and so many others who create out of necessity.
Our Budget
With the generosity of the local community in Santa Fe, a quarter of the budget and some in-kind donations from local businesses are already funded. However, we are still far way from our goal. Producing a film incurs significant expenses and we want to be transparent with our supporters about where their donations will go, so we have listed our main costs below.
1. Providing adequate compensation for our cast and crew is essential to their well-being and is an important part of showing the value of their work.
2. Cameras & Gear: To produce a high-quality film we need to rent out specialized equipment for every day of shooting.
3. Props and Set Decoration: The creation of a believable on-screen world requires the procurement of suitable props and decorations to bring the film to life.
4. Post Production: There are costs associated with each film production we make to finish the project as well as showcase the film once completed.
Final Note From the Director
Regardless of what you're able to contribute, awareness of the project and Gregory's intentions to create a more vibrant, inclusive, and accessible film culture in Santa Fe will not only benefit local artists and businesses but will also spread the desire to remain creative.
Thank you for considering donating to our project.
