Walmart oil change gone wrong
Hello,
My name is Nikki Smith and I am a mother of a 3 year old baby girl. And Now I’m currently without a vehicle due to Walmart’s negligence. I’ve had my car for over a year now and never had any issues with my car what so ever. I drove perfectly fine to and from both of my jobs and home Monday-Friday. I took my car to Walmart to get an oil change and left not thinking I needed to check under my hood to see if the oil cap was placed back on. Once I noticed that oil was leaking from my car I lifted the hood and discovered that the oil cap was not replaced and oil had leaked all over the parts under my hood. I took my car back to Walmart to inform them on the issues. They gave me another oil change and detailed under the hood. Upon picking up my car I had numerous service lights on on my car that I’d never had before, my car had also began smoking, and was not accelerating over 20mph. Once again they were informed of this and told us to bring the car back with diagnostics of what was wrong with the car. By the time we made it back to Walmart the Auto center had closed but I spoke with the manger who promised that any damages
done to my vehicle would be taken care of and I would be put into a rental in the meantime. And lastly to bring it back first thing in the morning. The first thing I did was take my car to Walmart. While inside talking to the mangers in less than 2 minutes my car was in flames and exploded. We could have lost our lives yesterday due to Walmarts unprofessional ways of handling mistakes. Thank God it was only my car. But now I’m forced to miss work until all claims are handled. Leaving me with no vehicle. It’s very devastating to lose something you work hard for. And for the manger to ask me “ Is there anything your just trying to gain from Walmart” ? Yes I want what I came here with. My car I’m not asking for anything less or anything more. They can put me back into the same Jeep same year and model. I want what I work hard for everyday to have! I’m not looking to gain anything more that what I deserve. And I deserve to have my car. I trusted in Walmart to make sure I got the proper oil change and now I’m with a car or a reliable form of transportation to get to and from work. A simple share is enough for me!
